Been creeping around this forum for a while and decided to finally start posting.

What are your favorite EQ Plugins for mixing/mastering and why?

I have grown very fond of the SSLEQs for little boosts here and there and also the Sonnox Oxford EQ for more intricate equalization tasks.

I know there are tons of EQs and most are chosen based on personal prefrence so I wanted to get everyone input on what they like most.

i use waves q10.

i don't know if it's 'neutral' .

would it be even better to use something like ssl for cuts?

and what speaks against waves q10 ??

For surgical eq I like Q10, hard to beat really and it is quite transparent. For the same thing with 'color' the RenEQ is great but sounds more vintage.

For coloring EQ in mixing I LOVE the VEQ4 for pretty much everything. It has become my go to eq it would seem...
VEQ3 for master buss or mastering color can be nice.

I like the apQualizr for surgical stuff...

I delved into the Q10 tonight and got some cool results, just wish it was a little bigger.. The analyzer/EQ combos also seem like a good way to go]

Has anyone tried the Sonalksis EQ?

ReaEQ for surgical stuff, BootEQmkII and sometimes NastyVCS (for the saturation and comp as well if stuff needs it) otherwise.

There are SO many EQ plugs out and SO many awesome ones that are free that I usually forget about them! Especially the "color" ones....

I likes Waves SSL Chan. a LOT, but never really liked any of the other Waves EQ's...

DMG Audio eQuality for more surgical boosting and or cutting. The auto-listen feature is AMAZING as is the built-in analyzer that can be easily turned on or off...

SonEQ is awesome on Bass or Kick if you're looking for that 'Pultec' thing.. I prefer the Softube PE1C(?) though..

Overall, for color I totally dig the PSP Audio sQuad pack and URS' Strip Pro... !

What exactly is the "auto-listen" feature?

hmm no mention on API stuff

But its not my fav, sometimes SSL E-EQ (more general stuff like cutting etc) sometimes SSL Channelstrip for shaping
