Favourite distortion pedal into clean amp?

I used to have one of those , its pretty good if you want to sound like Entombed simply turn all the controls to 10 and you get that super fat sludgey doom death tone but thats just a little bit too muddy for most other metal styles . On other settings its sounds a bit weedy since it doesnt have much distortion effect on tap. The Boss Metal core has a far more modern tone loads more "bite" and distortion .

It's no substitute for a real amp, but it's not bad. I still use it when I'm practising with a band and don't have access to a decent high gain amp

i recently got an old marshall pedal called shred master and really sounds good, anyone tried it?
