You might like Stratovarius. They are not unlike Edguy and I like Timo's vocals a little better than Tobi's. I can't imagine S5tratovarius being as "fun" live as Edguy, but they have many similar qualities. See if you can dig up the song "Hunting High and Low." It is probably their most popular tune. THey stack on a little cheese as well, but about like Edguy. It isn't to the Manowar degree.

I have heard a Few Stratovarius songs I liked and then I have heard some I cant stand at all hahahaha Rest assured though come PPUSA VI I will own atleast 3 of their albums and know the songs we will see I might like em yet! .... Have you heard Manticora Yet? OH and what do you think of Symphorce?

The music of Manticora is awesome !! The vocals are very average though. Still I think they may be the best opener since Balance of Power.

I must admit the Vocals did take some getting used to BUT!! once past that Manticora is Fucking Great I have to track down their first 3 records! ... I am also really starting to dig Stride! even with only 2 songs that I have heard .. they really have a certain something .. Mellow! but HEAVY too!! so far Angra and Stratocvarius are my biggest challenges ... getting into them has been hard hahaha ... and I'm pretty sure Therion will be my Dinner Break hahaha I also cant wait to see Pink Cream .. their latest album is Dynomite!!!! and then ofcourse there is the Return of Andy Franke with Symphorce .. this will be the band I am best prepared for and I will carve myself a nice spot up fron when they come on!

Angra was a big surprise to me. They are not a household name in the states, but they are a huge draw in other parts of the world. Do your best to get into that band. It's hard to find a more quality band than those guys. "Heroes of Sand" from their "Rebirth" release is an awesome song. I would be surprised if they didn't do that track live as well. That particular song may be the song I am most looking forward to hearing by any band.
Having said that, I look forward to the Avian release. Their vocalist (Lance King) is in my top ten vocalists of all time. His former band Balance of Power opened for PPII and he absolutely ripped. He is probably the most gifted vocalist from all the bands and that's saying quite a bit because Readman and Falaschi (Angra) are far from slouches. In fact, Timo (Strato) is good too, so there is strong company there. Keep an eye out for the Avain release. It's not out yet, but I expect it to be good.

how can you have old school metal without Dave?? he's been my idol ever since ive gotten into metal and im sure he will remain there.

i love the idea of a shirt, i would definately buy one, but if you make a shirt you have to have the original Diamond Head lineup, just for me!

NO Fucking Way! if that banner Represents the Whole of UMOS you cant remove them .. Why Because out of Everybody on that banner those 2 are the only ones I really like .. so in all fairness NO FUCKING WAY ..... This could be a Classic Argument that could last for years hehehe

I al still up in the air about Strato ... I dont like them alot but Damn are they catchy ... I have yet to hear Masterplan ... I will look em up .. but for now I have to prepare for PPUSA

Strato is bland. A bad representative of Europower IMO. I'll go with Blind Guardian, Heavens Gate, Masterplan, Falconer (early), Dream Evil, Mesmerize, Helloween, Azrael, Angra for more interesting bands, or with Hammerfall, Freedom Call, Cryonic Temple, Avalanch for more generic but good ones.

The problem I have found with Strato is one or two really good songs on a disc and a bunch of very mediocre ones at best. When they write a good song, it's usually pretty good and should go over well live though. We are going to see Strato in a few months so that is why I was mentioning Stratovarius in this thread. I'm not real big on them either and tried them out several years ago, but if you look at their body of work, they really do have several songs that are great "sing-along" fist pumping anthems. And on top of that, Timo is above average as a vocalist.
