Just out curiousity. how high do you guys rev up your post to? i am usually on like 6-5 but i've noticed poidaobi has used his shit with the post on 2. and his sound off the wall

so

what is your guys favoirte post volume setting and why?

About 3.5 - 4 for recording. It can sound great lower than that if you are very precise with the pot, but starts to get muffled if you go too low.

Backmask's "Dark Fiber" was with the post at around 4 into a Mesa OS cab.

I just got mine (From DSS3) and i tried it high volume two days ago and i thing 7 is way too loud, i thing 5 is a great spot, here in home i can´t get the volume more than 1 because is already loud haha

I've never tried it. Even at 2 it's super fucking loud, between 3-4 it's absolutely insane. I would seriously worry about blowing speakers past that, unless I had 2 cabs connected perhaps.

Are you going for the SUNN O))) sound or something? LOL

Depends on the amp. Usually 3 to 4 is a nice sweet spot, depending on what you can tolerate. I usually push it just to that point before the speakers start to fart out. V30s especially start to give off that boxy, 2d character once you dime the shit out of the post. In the room the volume is usually just that bit higher than ears can tolerate pleasantly.

I often record my 5150 at 5 or 6. It sounds great - ridiculously loud though.

i record between 5-7 when i use the amp through impulses. It gets really tight around that territory.
