Filthy sludge metal - natural drums, JVM, epic music

Alright guys, would love your thoughts on this one. It's the least 'clean' thing I've ever done and I think it's pretty slamming! Most of the guitars were recording direct through the amp, no reamping etc, something I never do. The ONLY sampling on the drums is 20% on the kick, otherwise... completely natural kit too! Let me know what you think/ critique it!

Cheers guys! Definitely trying to keep it organic etc Got a few things to fix up overall, but it's been a fun project that's for sure!

Very nice, my main project thats coming together is supposed to end up as music like this aswell, it's just so much more fun doing things the oldschool way, I'm really getting annoyed by all the Deathcore and Djent copycat stuff.
The mix is pretty cool, although I think the snare is too loud and prominent. It may be the "snappyness" of it, I'm not sure. For this type of music you could try recording drums with or four mics only, usually helps with the oldschoolness of you have a dencent drummer who doesn't have hide behing hours of quantizing and sampling. Imho, the intro riff is a bit too cliche Mastodon in terms of harmony, but the rest is pretty cool.
