Any other browncoats here?

I cannot believe they cancelled a great series like this and still have not invested time into resurrecting it... the movie did.. okay, but the DVD's sold really well.
And yet the networks refuse to pick up on this and continue this great, great program.

Never even knew about the show until I saw the movie "Serenity"

Loved that movie ... sometime after they started playing the show again on the Sci-Fi channel or something but I only got to see a few episodes before they stopped again

Awesome series, I loved it so much. Was this Fox's fault yet again?

Yeah.. fox though the captain was too much of a prick, too many anti-hero moments in the series, and they cancelled it after 11 episodes, it was aired on friday as well, talk about bad timing.

Well I thought the balance between captain and crew was quite refreshing.
And you gotta love that chinese cursing! Too bad they've let Wash die in the movie...by far my favourite character

And shepard Book! i loved that guy, and they let him die as well in the movie.
So will there ever be a return of the series, we will have to do without these two lads. :erk:

My ex-keyboardist showed me an episode once, but I found it utterly boring. Did nothing for me compared to Lost, Weeds or Heroes.

Then again, I haven't owned a TV in 10 years ...

But lost, heroes and firefly have one thing in common Smy.. you need more then one episode to get into it, learn about the characters and who they are.

Firefly is fantastic. Probably the best sci-fi show I've ever seen. Not as predictable and rigid as Stargate, not as geeky as Babylon 5/Star Trek and doesn't take itself as seriously as Battlestar Galactica.

Such a damned shame that the network canceled it when it did. This show stands head and shoulders above most of the crap being churned out on TV these days.
