I kinda understand what you are saying in your example, but I don't hear it in the guitars. To me it sounds even.

Maybe the example was a bit exaggerated in the later case, but the main idea

Can't check it now. Am in the midst of an electro production. Will post settings another time. I used a combination of URS Fultec, URS N12, Antares Tube and other stuff.

The URS EQs are the shit. Been liking the Fulltec lately. It's a simple interface so it forces you to be really sparing with what you want to cut or boost.

Hey Funky Animal! Here are the main settings:

Guitars 1 and 2 = Les Paul (bridge pickup) panned hard left and right

Guitars 3 and 4 = Les Paul (neck pickup) panned L79 and R79

I really believe in tracking half of the guitars with the neck pickup or middle position as it gives you a rounder, fatter sound which you can slide in underneath. Try it, you'll see what I mean.

Those guitar channels are all routed into a Guitar group channel:

Floorfish = gate
Voxengo Tapebus = analog saturation plugin, set to "Heavy Guitars" preset
Tube VST = Antares Tube plugin, set to blue mode, +3.0 gain and -2.4 output
L2 = Limiter, set for 4db of attenuation

I really believe in using many different EQs with slight settings. Somehow it gives me the feeling that I have more control over the sound.
