Hey guys, so I started working on a new song after my Charvel Model A got a new neck (the guy before me fucked the neck, so I needed a new one).

Just the intro to the song, need to arrange the rest and record it.
Chain was Guitar directly into ultra cheap Swisssonic USB Interface (30€ at Thomann) into Reaper,
like I said before, the guitar is a Charvel Model A with active Seymour Duncans (no blackouts, the older ones, forgot the name).
In Reaper the VST Chain was ReaGate-Jboost-Reagate-LeXTAC-LeCab.
Drums were Addictive Drums with my standard preset (I am not good at programming drums and mixing them
and I have a pretty low standard when it comes to drumsounds).

I hope some of you like it, the mix is a bit dull in my opinion:

Hey Stef,

to be honest, it sounds completely unmixed to me :/

I just dropped in after listening to Joshua's mp3: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/610605/Forms.mp3

And when I checked out yours right after it, it just seemed like a band playing straight into the mixer with no EQ or anything in comparison: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5065084/untitled.mp3

I agree with you though that the mix is too dull. The riffing is also very "chaotic", which is fine musically, but it needs a better separation mix-wise to get all the nuances of the playing right.

yeah, that all seems to be true, no problem with your honesty ;)

I think I will never get close to that sound, would be great tough, but I don't think that will happen.
Gonna work on the "mix" way more, it needs place for the bass, too, just wanted to know
what other people think about it.

Hey dude, do you think you would be able to PM me the DI tracks for this?
