First time mic'ing my amp

My amp is a marshall valvestate vs100, not expensive by any stretch but sounds good live IMO. Settings on the amp were:

Gain-9
Contour-9
Bass-4
Mids-6-7 (I like them that high mind you)
High-9

And post processing was just high/lowpass at 100hz and 10khz.

Bass is Revalver and my shit bass.

Also, sorry for my semi-sloppy playing and/or only playing 2 notes haha. The latter is because I was in the same room as my amp and couldn't really hear the metronome well so this is all I could salvage.

sounds like there is a huge hole in the mids. if there would be vocals, it might or might not be good thing.

interesting... i had them really high on the amp and didn't scoop them after, I'm not sure how to fix that

I did a REALLY quick test... I used a multiband compressor to compress really lightly with 2:1 ratio between 750hz-7.5khz (about 2-3dB attenuation) and then boost it 6dB to get 3dB extra gain for make it sound more in your face. But anyways, fix it with the amp settings and micing rather than in the mix. Easiest way to get the mids more in your face is drop everything else (especially bass) on the amp and turn up the volume
