facts:

- my good guitar is still in my bands rehearsal room
- I was too drunk to take it with me last time we practiced
- I needed to record some riff-ideas
- I had to use my old, cheap, messed up epiphone les paul gothic with passive pu's
- strings are 9 month old
- my gearbox patch (big bottom) for my good guitar sounded horrible with my bad guitar

Baaaad circumstances for recording a guitar.
so I wanted to try to get a decent sound out of any other metalshop amp. most of them really suck in my opinion but I started to like the uberschall clone. Guitars are quadtracked. No bassguitar though. Tell me what you think!

thanks, after giving my ears some rest I think it's too much presence and the muddynes comes with the chords. any suggestions?

So, dude, this is your cheap ass tone, right? An Epiphone with stock pickups and old strings on a PODxt (or similar) and you´re getting this tone.

I gonna kill myself.

haha, no no, don't do it. I did nothing special to get to that sound.

it's just the bogner clone in gearbox (metalpack), sir II with "newIR_1" impulse from GH. some gearbox reverb and the "greener". that's it. the crunch guitars at the beginning are all the same just less gain. low/highpass but no other eq. no compression at all.

if anyone wants the gearbox preset:
