What do the sneap forumites think? I have a 5150II right now. I have been having major problems with my JCM900 SL-X ever since I got it (low output, nowhere near what a 100 watt head should be putting out, and now no output at all) or should I just save up for an uberschall? Clearly, it will be cheaper to get the marshall up and running... but idk. I've taken it in 3 times, and they said they "fixed" it each time, and they didn't. So I need to contact a good tech.

Output transformer will be fucked on the SL-X. Get it fixed, it's a great amp! Mix it with your 5150. Worked for Carcass :D

No idea mate. Ask a good tech. Maybe put a post on HCAF or another amp forum looking for a good tech in your area. :)

So, I've been doing some research on the amp... But I am getting mixed "facts". Does the SL-X have diode clipping or not? If it does, that is the less desired distortion, correct? Which essentially make buzzy distortion?

and Can the output transformer be bad, but not all the way bad? Like, I got teh amp from my uncle who fucking abused the thing. He say through it... put tin foil in the fuses instead of buying new fuses... When I got it, it was never *that* loud for a tube amp... My 5150 blows it away... From what I am told, the marshall should shake your bowels. So, is it possible from when I got it that teh output transformer has been fucked, but took a while to finally give out?

Sorry I'm a noob with amp talk.

The SL-X's have a 4th preamp tube as opposed to the 900 Dual Reverbs which only have 3. The SL-X is basically a "Super Lead eXtra"

It's got a full tube signal path. The 900 Dual Reverbs have the Diode clipping in the preamp section instead of a tube.

The SL-X slays! Trust me.

Excuse my shocking playing. I made these just after I got my SL-X when I wasn't really that into recording.

If Lasse says it, it must be true. I've yet to hear an Uber in person, but the clips sound awesome!
