stuff you need to clean up nicked/scratched discs...

You will need 1400 grade "wet" automotive sandpaper, some polishing compound, cleaning cloths...

Buff the disc while running it under water, with the sandpaper, it won't take long... Must be under water, I.E. @ the sink, ect or you'll ruin your prized possession! Continue until the disc has a even dull finish... Inspect to see that you got all the scartches, that were affecting play, out...

Dry with non scratching, lint free cloth. Begin to add compound evenly & begin to buff away the dullness off the disc. Remember, just like when applying to your rig, you must buff all the compound off before it dries!
You might have to practice this a few time before you perfect it. In fact, I dinged a Vince Neil disc that I had in the car & patched it up this afternoon.. I would suggest you practice on a CDR so you don't ruin a disc...

If I ever scratch one of my CDs I kill myself. But thanks for the hint. I usually clean them with Lysol and tissue, and sometimes I have got rid of minor marks with pure hexane and a cotton (it must be pure hexane, if there's any trace of aromatic hydrocarbons or any other plastic agressive solvent like acetone, kiss your CD goodbye).
