Said product is now £199, don't know for how long but it looks like a great bargain.

I am currently using a Line 6 UX2 and while I think it's ok for jamming along with tunes and getting ideas down, I've since started to do some serious tracking and I'm not too happy with the results. I'm up to speed with all the advice about recording DIs but when I compare them to the raw DIs people are kind enough to donate to the forum mine sound like crap when I re amp, (you can hear the results below on the Soundcloud embedded signature) ... the usual story that we read on here many times over.

Therefore I'm seriously thinking about getting the Forte and now a question, is the Forte a step up from the UX2 in terms of pre amps/DA AD converters and listening sound quality?

Thank you.

Seems like a good sale to consider. Do you want an ultra compact interface for portability? Seems like for that pricing, you could get a lot more mixing/routing features. For example, it doesn't appear to have zero latency routing option. I like using that as well as having plenty of in/outs with my Saffire Pro 24DSp. Also look at the minimum gain for the instrument input: +14db is the MINIMUM. That means you might have to lower your pickup height or use a d.i. box to prevent clipping. Really common on Focusrite interfaces....

Perhaps the 'RedNet' preamps are worth the extra dough, not sure at all.

Thanks for your reply.

No, I'm not looking for portability or a high number of inputs I'm looking for something that will give me a high quality input and output signal. Quality not quantity as they say dude.
I can live with using a DI box like you suggest, that would be no problem at all if it improves the sound quality of my DI recordings. Drums and vocals have already been done for my current projects and for future projects, the drums would be SSD and SDX. So yeah, one high quality input is all I'm looking for. :)

Thanks Martijn.

I think the Forte is perfect for what I need want it for. Lots of good things said about it and it gives the impression it's in the same league as the Babyface and the Duet. Plus and the price is bloody good too!

Trigger to be pulled shortly!
