Hi dudes :)

I recorded this song together with 2 friends of mine. Goal was it to let this sound like end of the 60´s..I actually tryed to set up the drums to sound like "old". It´s the most weird, lavishly and experimental song I ever worked on! It would be great, if you´d find time to listen to it..(about 8 minutes) It´s an epic.

The song is called "Adoria" (an imaginary planet). I played the guitar solos and the drums. This is not supposed to be perfect! This supposed to be different and crazy :)

Adoria (Felix Neumann & friends)

What do you think about the song?

Edit:

Sneapster Elvis alias Soultrash did a remarably mastering job to make it sound more dirty, older and thus more authentic.

Here we go: Adoria (Soultrash´s dirty mastering)

Do you think, there is an atmospheric improvement?

sound really cool man!
i love this kind of music.
the only problem i see here is that is sounds too good!
try to add noise, a cool "cold" reverb (drumms need to sty dry i think) and stuff like this.
the distortion guitars are too mdistorted,
i don't think they had this kind of drive in the 60's

cheers

Thank you very much, dude :) You´re damn right..actually it could sound a bit more "old". I tryed to do the pannings exactly like on the old tunes (as "stereo" was the new spectacular and revolutionary thing). The most difficult action, was to get my Pearl export sound like a old fucked up "Ludwig"..especially the snare.

They did not have exactly this kind of distortion, but the had a lot of fuzz..like on "Revolution". End of the 60´s they began to produce awesome distortion sounds. I tryed to reproduce the sound of the Beatles in 1969 (as Abbey Road came out).

i took the cubase grungelizer and added some "noise" and "crackle".
dere is also a "hum" knob, but i would turn this one completely down.
then i cut off some bass and added some deep mids and some highs to raise up the noise.
then i put a 65% reverb on it, used the cubase5 reverence reverb plug for this:)

cheers

sure, just send me the wav file,
then i'll make 2 or 3 versions of
it and send you full quality mp3's back!:)

cheers

that snare is definately the ultra dry 60s and 70s prog rock snare that i know and love so well :D
nicely done felix!

if you wanted to go a step further with the lo fi-ication btw, you should high pass it
i swear i dont remember recordings from then sounding this full and big

Haha thanks, dude :kickass: That´s an inner conflict. Authentisms against goodness :) Do you know the Abbey Road Album? I think, this is the best produced and most care taken (production,-and performance wise) album in the 60s! Also the low end is unusually pronounced.

Sneapster Soultrash did a mastering job to make it sound more dirty, older. I will put the link in the thread today.
