It's a Roth era Van Halen tribute band with three of the former members of "Stride" (Joel Gregoire on guitar, Mike Martin on bass and Matt Kanzler - Drums)
It's not "Stride" but they do sound pretty tight in the video at http://www.myspace.com/vhunchained. And it looks like they are having fun again (note Joel's seventies long-hair wig).
The headliner for the evening is "Mindcrime", a Texas based "Queensryche" tribute band with Chris Salinas on vocals (Power Of Omens and Zero Hour) and three of the members of the band "Krucible" (including Shane Dubose). I've seen "Mindcrime" a couple of times and they don't disappoint. They are actually better than the current line-up of "Queensryche" ... at least on the early to classic period of "Queensryche".
So not really original material but a fun night for metal and good musicians. Also an opportunity to support the club and these musicians. These tribute bands are necessary to pay the bills, fund original material and of course, just have some fun.
