For those speed drummers

I recorded my cousins band last year (a rough demo for their new singer to learn songs by). Anyway the drummer (high school kid) was very good with a double bass pedal. Well in my opinion. Im easily impressed because I suck on the drums. Anyway here is the drum track from one of the tunes. I did add a little of the bass guitar for flavor. You can hear a little the bleed of the guitars too. I was backing up tracks and re-visited this one. I need to listen to some of the other tunes they did before I archive them. kick sounds awesome! i'm not sure of the high hats though or his whole playing.. but his feet seem to be over powering everything else.. imo..

that's a pretty cool kick sound, any chance you could give us some samples? ALso any details as to the recording chain?

Yep, the kick sounds round but clicky. If that makes any sense

Actually, I set the kick higher in this, drums only mix. Wanted to make it stand out. The kick is actually a cheap Audix F12, Also using a room mic for seasoning, that is positioned down low. Snare is Shure 57, Cymbals are Audix F15's. All I did was set the gains and hit record. Now, Im using a Mackie Onyx 1640 mixer as my DAW interface and the preamps are very nice on this mixer, so that helps. I also use Tracktion 3 (DAW) which includes a very nice all in one channel strip (eq,filters,compressor,limiter) vst. The toms (Audix F10's) are too low, but it was a quick recording session. They needed a few songs recorded quick for the new singer. I need to practice more on the drums.
