Found a free cab enhancer thingamajig

Initially the word 'enhancer' made me think it was bullshit, but after reading this I'm very, very curious to try it out:

"To Illustrate how the CabShaper will help out, we'll use the example of a snare drum. When you hit a snare drum hard or soft the sound of that snare drum changes with the velocity of the strike. These tonal changes occur with speakers too, albeit to a lesser degree. So, it is these tonal/resonant changes that are missing from an IR file. Use of our new EAR(Enhanced Audio Resonance) technology attempts to put them back in."

no one ever deletes or moves threads here, there is no "moderation" as such. Brett and Andy are FAR too busy i'm sure than to waste their time babysitting us all. It's a successfully self-moderately forum, which is a great achievement!
 
Well It was in off topic because I keep getting told I'm a spammer for sharing these things with you guys. Not here but at a ton of other forums...So, sorry about the confusion, but I find if I don't make too big of a foot print, and try and be as un-assuming as possible, then I don't get insulted as a spammer.

Although we're not selling anything... I still get some pretty bad insults from people. Its not like we're pushing penis enlargements or something..and this stuff is on topic...

Thanks for checking this stuff out and MarkG, thanks for trying, I'll give you an exclusive for next weeks release, which is probably an enhanced version of our Amp model maker GUTS...You create your own amp and save it as a file, then you can distribute the file. That file is then read by the GUTS interpreter called Snap. Snap then transforms itself into what ever type of amp is stored in the gut file you created. Snap and in fact Guts are both freeware products as well. The new GUTS will compile into its own standalone VST effect...But that is a while off..

Anyways the cab enhancer should be used after a CAB IR..

That IS a great achievement, and I am sorry for this useless thread, guess I should have checked the off topic forum.

If there is anything I've learned its that this forum isn't like the others. That self moderating bit is a prime example of this.

That exclusive sounds really cool! I'm very intrigued by the process employed to create your own amp. I'll be happy to give it a shot, and share the files.

no one here is going to accuse you of spamming, and if they do they'll get jumped on pretty quickly and told to shut it!

You're offering us free stuff, and it's on topic, so i can't see the downside. I think i speak for almost everyone here by saying thankyou to you for keeping us updated about your new plugins, it's just as much a service to us as people posting drum samples or impulses.

Free stuff or not, I really don't think it's very logical to call you a spammer. This is a production forum, you're giving us production tools that would help us. Viola!:kickass:
 
JohnnyMcFly: I like and use practically every plugin you guys have come up with. I'm looking forward to trying GUTS and Snap also, because I've been trying to mod Revalver to make a Matamp in it and even though I've matched all the specs for the components and stuff to the Matamp schematic it doesn't sound like a Matamp. I reckon GUTS/Snap will net something closer.

About the Cab Enhancer: Only played with it a bit, but I like it. The 'radio' preset really does give it that lo-fi sound like it's coming out of an old radio. Perfect for intros. Didn't dig the way it sounded when using other presets, but then I WAS running it after Waves GTR (with cabs on) and Boogex with an IR. Yeah, I use two cab sims in series... but it sounds great so whatever works.

As for the guys accusing you of spamming, they can take a flying fuck at a rolling donut. :)
 
Thanks Nectar...I will have an upgrade for the Cab Enhancer very shortly. I have gleaned a ton of information since its release thanks to the users. First is the low end enhancement. Right now ver. 1.04 will in a lot of cases cause a low end rumble, but, I have (I Think) figured out how to fix that. So the upgrade will include an LFE..

So speaking of SPAM! I just got banned from Harmony-Central. This is getting ridiculous! You know stuff like that just makes me say fu$% it! Why I even bother is beyond me, its not like I'm making any money doing this, yet I still have to put up with these insults. Pigeon holed into the same category as Penis Enlargement ads. Thats basically what these people are saying...Apparently I was spamming about my company, which has a yearly income of zero! So, basically I am to release these effects with no name on them. AS IF?

Even though my Ban is lifted in a month or something, there will be no more postings at Harmony central EVER...or anywhere else that does not want us. The Harmony Central users are a great bunch of people, just like you guys. In previous releases, they get involved, and we all talk about different options and such. I Didn't think we were causing a problem taking previous posts into consideration. I'm sure if they were given the option they would rather go to their home forum for support and release notices. They are just going to have to watch acmebargig.com, or move to a forum like this one where the moderators have it together. (Please...Feel Free to repost this as many times as you wish!!)

Alu83, Man I'm sory, MAC OSX is something I've been looking into supporting, but as for right now I just can't do it. Its not that I don't like MAC or anything like that, I just don't have the architecture to support it right now..

What can I say, the world is full of dicks.

I'm personally a little confused about the interface. Which functions do we use to improve the cabinet impulse and how do we use it if using no impulse at all?

Interface...
Good question..All the green LED's are on off switches for the function beside the led.

So with no IR, used to emulate a Cabinet...
The top left corner is a 2 pole Low Pass filter. When this is on, it can emulate a cab. Using a 2 pole LP filter is pretty much the standard way of emulating cabinets. The EQ under this is just for adding or removing extra tone..

So with an IR..
The top filter should usually be turned off. Its primary function is to remove the scratchy higher order harmonic tone that comes out of a preamp. However no rules..The EQ is once again just there to add or remove tone.
The left side of the Enhancer is what really comes into play here..

Widening delay...
Frequency and Time. The frequency can be thought of as the feedback, so number times that the delay happens(sort of)..The time is the distance between delays. Using these adjustments you can place your guitar into the stereo spectrum

EAR(Enhanced Audio Resonance)..
Amount
This is the amount of added resonance to be added.
Mix, this mixes the amount of EAR with the rest of the Enhancer frequencies..

Filter...
Basically this is an extra filter. Its original intention was to be used as a his reducer..

I'll know more once I get more feedback from users..This is still a new technology and there are some things that we just can't answer yet.
