Introducing…
iFacePostingTitle.png

For those of you who have the AWESOME Redwirez cabinet library, you know how much of a PITA it is to navigate and load cabinets. After all, there’s 180,000 + individual Impulse response files. It’s a vast array of options to be sure.

The task of selecting the browse button, finding the library, deciding on a cabinet, deciding on a mic… Wait! It doesn’t stop there, now you have to decide on a distance. One inch, two inches, three inches? Do I want the mic on or off axis? Should it be on the cone, cap, cap edge, or the cone edge? If you get that selection wrong, you’re back to square one. Click the browse button again, and keep repeating the above steps…

iFace takes care of that for you. Select a cabinet, and or a mic, and then iFace does the rest. Simply moving the controls locates and loads the correct cabinet file. Its simple and a more natural way to select a cabinet.

All you need to do is have a Redwirez cabinet installed to its default “factory” path, Then tell iFace where it is. After that just select what cab and mic you want, then go about moving the controls..
Want the mic at three inches away from the cabinet? Then slide the mic three inches away from the cabinet…Want it off axis? Then select off axis… Pretty simple...

iFace also supports the matched ambient mics of the Redwirez library. Most cabinets in the Redwirez library also contain Impulse response files of mics placed at ambient locations throughout the studio. These are also available through the Ambient mics selection menu. Once again, these are "matched" and what WE mean by matched is, the ambient mics are recordings of the cabinet you have selected, Not a recording of a balloon pop or starter pistol...

There are plenty more features, but we'll let you explore and find them yourself. If you have any trouble, or questions, feel free to post here as we'll be regularly monitoring this thread to provide support to you. If you like you can also obtain support directly from the iFace discussion at the AcmeBarGig forums here.

Thanks for reading and checking it out...

If you are part of the Shred 2 Pre-purchase group, don't bother downloading this, your fully registered no nag screen version is waiting for you at the forum...Enjoy and thanks.. Remember, we said this was included with the pre-purchase

For those of you that already have the Redwirez Cabinet library, iFace can be downloaded at the following link now. We don't make you register or any of that other PITA stuff that is usually associated with free downloads.

Don't forget to read the manual! Its 65 pages, but most of it is the Redwirez IR matrix which tells you what cabinet IR's are included.

For those of you that do not have the Redwirez cabinet library, Redwirez have been gracious enough to provide you with a freeware cabinet. You can get it here..

Known issues
I want to post about known issues here as we did not have time to address these before release. They are being worked on right now though.

SONAR all versions 64 bit
Description:
There is an issue with the plugin automatically loading presets on saved projects.

In depth:
If you add iFace to a track, when you open the project at a later time, iFace will have "forgotten" your selections.

Temporary work around:
Save the iFace preset and load it on the recorded track. Please do test this work around though as any information you can give us on this issue will be helpful.

While this comes in really handy, the price imho just isn't reasonable. It should come together with redwirez big box for free (I know it's a different company). Almost anything on your page is for free and the headcase is 26€ and should be much more expensive than a folder-gui for IRs already paid for. At 5€ I'd buy it!

yes sir I do! it doesn't seem much, but the price for this gui (which it mainly is) is disproportionate to a whole set of amps. just my two cents go ahead and buy it.

We won't post anything here again as requested...
All ABG responses have been removed from this thread.

edit: I should rephrase that...
All ABG responses that pertain to the original posting have been removed from this thread.

No, it was a request not to post, as some felt our postings were disruptive. I'm not going into detail, but out of respect for the community, we will not be disruptive to you. So, we just won't post any more...Thats all, nothing to do with the ABG team, or Redwirez, its out of respect...

Yeah no Biggie, whenever anyone at a community finds us disruptive we leave...Just a policy we have as we do a lot of posting and it really gets under some people's skin. Thats fine and thats not our goal. Our goal has never changed, still the same, provide good quality, if not free, then affordable effects for people. Now having said that, its the first time it has ever happened here, I just have not really been sharing much here because there has been very little we have released lately that would be of use to a Metal community, so, why gum up your threads with stuff you all would find useless right...? Like you don't want Jazz or ROCK amps, and its exactly those areas we have been concentrating on, as well as experimental convolution engines. Besides, a lot of you guys can find us at other forums if there is something you're interested in, or you can always drop me a line..

Yeah as I said I have not been around much, we didn't really release anything the community would find of value as we have been trying to develop for all genres. So it was probably someone new that didn't know us that asked us to stop posting, No biggie, we still don't develop much in the way of Metal centric amps anyways. However the reason I did post this is because it was for cabinets, everyone uses them, so I thought there would be a value to the community in that, well at least for those that use redwirez impulses. Either way, the postings for iFace are all over the place so, you can still check then out if you like..

Why?
as long as it wasn't Sneap or Brett I don't see a problem.
Slate is posting here, I'm advertising my stuff, wolfe and stinnett are posting about theirs...why shouldn't you?
as I said, if it was Andy or Brett complaining it's adifferent thing, feel free to shoot me a PM with details

IFace is a work of art. It has features not found in any other IR Loader - if you own Redwire's BigBox it will amaze you once you try it. $20 is what most of us blow on a trip to the clubs, and once you hear what it can do to an impulse it will blow yer mind.

Thanks Guys...
I reposted at the start of the thread...One person's request to stop posting outweighs the community's vote to continue...So, there you go...

Lasse, I have some ideas for a sample lib, we should talk..

Dexter...
"if ABG wants to compete with Lepou's Lecab2 it should be able to take more than 2 cabs..."

It actually loads 4 IR files, and, we are not competing with Lepou. 1) LePou is a great friend, and 2) iFace is a different thing altogether. You don't point to an IR to load it in iFace, you simply select a cabinet and mic, then the movement of the controls determines what IR file is loaded. When you have an AKG, and Marshall selected, then moving the mic to 9 inches from the cab loads the AKG Marshall that is recorded at 9 inches away. It dynamically loads IR files in real time based on your movements. The only similarity between Lecab and iFace is that they are both convolvers, so I would suggest you to take it for a spin, then you'll know that there is no competitive challenge to our friend LePou coming from us...
