How awesome is this?

The guy is still one of my favorite composers. The more I uncover about his discography, the more I realize he was involved in some of my favorite soundtracks ever.

Balle... haha, I'll keep that one in mind when I visit up there.

I'm a bit too young to appreciate the scene that was going on during the Amiga days. My first console was a master system, so I missed the 'scenes' of the C64 and Amiga eras... I'm sure it was great though.

@anssi: He also did a bunch of other stuff like the Assassin's Creed games, Scorcher, Amok, Borderlands etc. A really cool body of music.

The beauty of music such as this (and any old school NES and SNES soundtracks as well as a shining example) is that there's really nothing to be done to make the music sound flashier. No high tech production tricks to mask poor music.
The songs live and die on their hooks and on the quality of the writing, what a wonderful thing.
There's a reason everyone knows the super mario theme tune and nobody can tell the difference between deathcore bands.
Wunderbar! Thanks for sharing

Edit: also Assassin's Creed 2 was most likely my favourite video game soundtrack ever. The music in Venice was absolutely stunning. Looking forward to hitting up Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for more tunes.

Jesus On Es FTMFW.

The early Amiga demo scene was one of the things that got me interested in computing, technology, and music... and finally... drugs.

The software they used then to compose the music, they called them "trackers", is what first got me into composing music back when I was 14, and it was a year later I actually started to learn to play guitar. I remember I used a program called "fast tracker II", and I still to this day use a newer version of it called "skale tracker" to program strings for my music...
Here's my favorite demo at the time:

Did you know that Skaven, the (Finnish) guy who did music for that demo, made the theme music for Unreal Tournament and The Future Crew members later formed Remedy Entertainment, where Skaven is working as an animator nowadays.
