can\t download it form here.... but is it the video from UR's drumschool?.... with that extremely amazing drummer that kicks ass so hard you can't sit for years?
Fred is victory. being able to see him live on sunday was worth the price of admission alone. Meshuggah were so fucking amazing. i wish Tool were opening for THEM.
The drummer, Morgan Ågren, Is a swedish jazz-fusion-metal-weirdo drummer. he currently plays in a band with hiw blind(!!!!) friend Mats.
you can find pretty much all info about him here.
A pretty good idea of how good this guy is:
He played drums with Frank Zappa when he was 20 years old!
And check out his discography... it is nothing but amazing..
On the CD, there is a lot of.... noices.. not much singing.. just making noices and saying words to the music..
I recomend all and everyone to get this album.
Thanks man. Your posts are always enlightening.
Morgan Ågren's drumming is amazing, however the guitar playing is less than inspiring. I know that's probably the idea here... but, I'd like to see two musicians really pushing each other a bit more... I want hear blazing guitar riffs...
hmm,.... well Sol Niger really is just ONE song.. goes through a whole range of WEIRD ass things, one section it sounds almost just like random Organ noise for a couple minutes... there are some really cool riffs on it though, and the vocals sound really evil hehehe even though it sounds like all the snarl comes from effects, it is still cool. Think Meshuggah-ish riffs slowed down and more rhythmic and all sorts of weird experimentation too... kinda hard to explain.
ALSO: I still love that tone with all my body (even my peepee)
Hey Mike, nice vid...I've always found Meshuggah's crushing riffs to be pretty interesting, so this is cool....so damn chugging and heavy, i love it :]
and yes, that drummer fucking rocks
btw, i HOPE you're still working on the december flower solo!! :]
Yes, I will never be able to get tone like that... my 10 watt on board gain is... think radio static haha... *cries*... I think I'll stick to Credence.
