hey guys,
just made my first impulse response of a cab. It's a copy of a Mesa Boogie Thiele 1x12" cab equipped with one Celestion G12t75 16ohm speaker. It's obviously not finished yet;)

To make it even more unique, I used a vintage mic: a Uher m534 from 1973 (here's the manual).
So the whole chain was: Cubase -> RME Multiface -> FX loop return of a Marshall JTM-60 (Groove Tubes EL34) -> thiele cab -> Uher mic -> Summit Audio 2ba-221

Here's the link to the impulse file.

and here's an example "mix" where I used the IR on the rhythm guitars: Anodyne Sea
TSE 808 -> Amplification Creme -> Sir

the files belong to shredder10. Be sure to check out his thread with his awesome As I Lay Dying cover!

What do you guys think? Feel free to use it where ever you want, just leave a comment.

cheers, Stefan

absolutely hate the T75, has no midrange what so ever. hurts my ears, probably a great impulse for those who like the sound though.

Why not a mic'd vs impulse comparison??
Here's the "mic'd" version. Same poweramp as the impulse file, but a different preamp.

I really want a thiele 112 with a 75. How's it sound?
It sounds awesome in my opinion. The cab has a massive lowend even though i closed the middle bass reflex hole temporarily (as you can see on the picture). The speaker itself sounds a little bit harsh. We'll see if this changes when I put some damping material inside the cab.

yeah, it's a matter of taste, but thanks :)

can you borrow a v30 for doing another impulse
Actually I just bought a Vintage 30, but I didn't have the time to experiment with it yet. Maybe I'll make some more impulses with it in the next few weeks.
