just thought some people may be interested in this site. http://www.gathering.fr.st/ someone posted it on the opeth forum after i wrote something about how great they are. anywho they post a free bootleg up there every month starting the 15th...

which brings me on to part two...are there any other sites like this? and shouldnt there be? the gathering are 100% behind this which is great, and someone should do this for other bands too, its just a really great idea i think. :spin:
 
Whoa, maybe I'm mistaken, but it looks like you can download an entire show, not just one track (which is what I expected). :eek:
That's cool, but I doubt many record labels would be happy about one of their bands doing it (I guess the Gathering don't care, seeing as they're nolonger with Century Media). This is a good move on their part, though.
 
im sort of half with you about the record label being angry, BUT at the end of the day, only fans d/l bootlegs, and those fans already have the albums. i mean as good as a live show is, its no substitute for the real albums...(awaits a katatonia site like this...)

Yes, nice site, but no Katatonia... :(.

But there is this site (Hobo's site): ftp://katatonia.mine.nu/. I t has the Paris bootleg, a live version of Endtime and the Teargas live in Finland vid.

BTW, I checked that The Gathering site, but found only information on bootlegs, no actual downloadable bootlegs... where should I look...
 
there should be a link on the sidebar to something like 'monthly bootleg' or something like that....

yep, probably better than Superheat...anywho theres only one choice for next months bootleg. thats the 1995 one where Anneke sings a song or two from the old albums!!! should sound good...i think.
 
lol yeah, I'm voting for that 95 gig each time I download a track, alot of others seemed to want that other bootleg (with all the same tracks as the last 2 bootlegs *yawn*), but 95 is well out infront now :grin:

But none of the bootlegs listed have tracks off 'Almost a dance', which is annoying, that album has some good songs, just really horrid vocals, I'd really like to hear Anneke singing them :mad:

yeah, listening to it, it seems like you've found a lost Mandylion demo tape bonus track or something, really good. Eleanor is brilliant as well, theres just too much energy in this song :eek: i forgot how good it was... (now to listen to the whole of Mandylion 3 times over!!!!)
