These are some of the best plugins out there, stuff with actual character.

For a great FREE analog tape simulator, its hard to beat Ferox

What do you know about this, these betas were released alongside some tracks in a mix-off competition of some sort by Stillwell (and some other guys) himself. Without the official GUI's. Anything released freely by the designer = free plugin in my book, regardless if they sell them these days. Plus I didnt knew his website at the time. Way to judge, hombre :erk::yuk:

A rapidshare link always looks bad, it either looks like piracy, or its not giving credit to the developer.
It only takes a second to type Stillwell into google to find the homepage stillwellaudio.com
Why not use the latest versions?
 
Nice site! One lazy question: do you know a SSL kinda free plug for osx? Im asking cus Im to lazy to check out every free plug.. Witch would you recommend? thanks!

I'm resurrecting this, since I need some free plugins to toy with on my new Macbook Pro and OSX Reaper. Any recommendations? I don't think "Windows VST's" work on OSX, or do they?

I'm looking for these in particular:
-Tape saturation
-Compressor
-Master compressor
-Eq
-Reverb

Oh, and perhaps a multiband comp and a "GClip for Mac" as well.
