Frequent use of Sitar

Any great Indian themed metal bands? Nothing kitschy though. I want the sitar player to actually know how to play sitar, not just some dude shredding the instrument like a retard.

And I mean heavy usage, not just some random couple bars for flavor.

Symphony X uses sitar from time to time (is there a stringed instrument Michael Romeo can’t play?). also check out the V album (where it’s used in a couple intros)

That was alright. Would have liked to hear it more prominently though.... think Karl Sanders --- only heavier.

Gargoyle are super influenced by raga rock, and this album has sprinklings of killer sitar moments.

There's also Kikagaku Moyo who are a Japanese psych band (so not metal) with a fulltime sitarist. Really awesome band, gets into heavier droney territory too.

Also Sigh's album Gallows Gallery features some sitar playing.
