no mark-ups, I think gugs is saying that all the fun stuff extra goodies are in the add-on packages ... which will bring the car into the $40k range.

no, they don't, unless you're looking at a very hard to get BMW, i.e. M3, etc.

$34K is stripped down, and you will not find a single BMW dealership that actually orders the cars that way. By the time they get to the U.S., they've already got $5K in options already installed. Might seem shitty, but since their sales records reflect that that is indeed how people want them, that's how they order them. Makes perfect business sense.

I had a 325xi sedan (a 2001, keep in mind) that was $37,500 after I "built" it. Now I got it for $34,000, but that's because the Sales Mgr. was a friend of mine and I agreed to finance it through BMW NA. Again, that was 5+ years ago, and not a wagon.
 
when you drive the stop-go traffic every day, an automatic is much better than a manual. beside, it lets you sleep/masturbate/read while you drive cause all you do it gas brake gas brake gas brake gas brake. 5 feet at a time!

I drive in the city ALL the time, and I drive 5x as much as anyone here, and I never have and never will drive an automatic.

So put that in yer pipe and smoke it.
