Fuck it, I think I'm just getting a Honda

I don't have time to read through this whole thread, but I'd just like to say that you might be making a good choice with that Honda, Gugs . . . and that's coming from somebody that has NEVER owned a foreign vehicle. In fact, nobody in my immediate family has ever owned one. However, I'd probably look at getting that exact same Honda for my wife, if the closest dealer wasn't 2 hours away. Right now we just have Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep near by. We ended up getting a Chevy TrailBlazer a little over a year ago. My wife needs the 4 wheel drive occasionally, but now I'm wishing we would have gone with a car and she could borrow one of my parents vehicles on icy or muddy days. We really don't even have that much dirt/mud to deal with.

I've just been informed that I might be able to lease a 2006 Jaguar X-Type for less than $300/month. I hope so. A pimp like me ought to drive a pimp car, no?

Mark, this might be somewhat true. An ex partner of mine just leased the I don't know what model, about $70K sticker ... for only about $550.
They have great lease deals on Jag's

It is worth mentioning that you can also lease a 325 BMW for about $369-$399 a month ... and as you know maintenance is included. Not a bad deal.

Yeah, I know (about the BMWs). I really have to keep reminding myself that the idea here is that I save some cash on a monthly car payment. I'm really looking to get to $300 or less. I guess I have to just suck it up and not drive a special car or anything. :(

pretty sure you can score a Jetta or a GTI for about $300

yeah but from what i hear it's quality-wise maybe on par with the weaker american companies, if that

so basically have fun with your luxury options and ipod jack when your jaguar catches fire in the middle of nowhere

I can get a Passat for $300 - I just have to see if there are "hidden costs."

The Jetta is $200-$240/month right now. Not interested in a GTI really, just not too practical, and the new one is way overpriced at the moment while it's in high demand.

I saw the GTI and the Civic within 30 minutes of eachother. Dealerships were right across the street from one another. The NEW GTI is far bigger then the Civic and especially bigger than the previous Generation GTI ... made in Germany too ... you gotta check it out. Great spacious interior and I am pretty sure all the gadgets you need.

The dealer I went to in Queens, said he had about a dozen in stock ready to go ... all about $25K ... they come pretty loaded, not many options on it.

That's funny, I'm looking at the Mazda 6 right now (the 3 is too small/underpowered). I've been in love with the car for quite some time now, just (again) have to see if there's a decent lease deal on one. If I was willing to drive the "i" model, there is a wicked deal, about $220/month. But of course I insist on the "s" model.
