I'd much rather see anthrax play for a couple of hours in an intimate environment. Doing songs from the new album and cool shit that we havn't seen live in years from their back catalogue. Much better than a fourty five minute best of set in the nose bleed sections of the pavillion. Ozzfest is fun to be at. Just getting drunk and rowdy but I've rarely ever gone with the serious intentions of checking out someone's set closely.

That and "Madhouse" are synonamous with Ozzy.

I agree w/ your sentiments on Ozzfest, it's just a fun summer day - we usually get a limo or a hotel and just get hammered. And I mean hammered.
I also agree w/ you about Ozzy. He needs to retire. He is a caricature of what he once was. His Bark at the Moon action figure is more aware than he is. I know, people want KISS, Aerosmith, the Who, AC/DC, and Alice to retire too, but all the bands I listed still master their show (in fact, they seem to be getting better w/ age - better musicianship, better productions via technology) But Ozzy's shows are LAME.

AC/DC's going into the Rock'n'roll Hall of Fame next month

I don't think they should retire, although I wouldn't mind if they'd write a new song once in a while It's nice to see them getting respect. What I didn't realize is that AC/DC is the 6th highest selling artist of all-time, and Back in Black is the 5th highest selling album of all time. Nice to see a real artist up there.

there is more than just two options. Just look at voivod, they are doing a headlining tour to give you the hour/hour and a half of material but they are also doing just what anthrax wanted to do and that is play a festival where you will get exposure. They need to get themselves out in the public. This wasn't going to mean they weren't going to do their own headlining tour. Remember, they wanted to do alot of touring for this cd.
