Among the Horrors
Anyone else have this problem in Hold Em? Like on a regular basis? I have lost more hands to improbable river cards than I think anyone. Good thing I don't play for money that much.

That's why I hate playing with people who dont really "play" but just try to get lucky all the time. It never fails, the river card will get you....

No card is improbable. Each card has the same exact probability as any other.

You need to bet bigger to get your opponents off shitty hands.

Problem is, when your not playing for real money. Noone ever folds bad hands.

That's called luck of the draw.

Bet your oponents off their inferior hands and it won't happen as much.

Bigger pre-flop raises help.

Still when you're not playing for real money it's hard to get people to fold.

I play in a cash game two nights a week at a local club min 300 buy in.

When you start playing for a little more money it happens less.

But, you still get your guys that play everything til the end.

It's one thing if it's no-limit. I don't see the point if it's a set limit for every raise (like you can only raise it two or four every time it comes to you)

True, but Blackjack is not really a skill card game. You have to know when to hit and when to fold. That's about it. You're basically only playing against the deck.

No-Limit is a very strategic game. Skill plays a major factor in how you do. It is by no means a luck game.

To be honest. No-Limit is my second job. And yes, I do make some money.

If you are really into learning how to play. There are several good books I can recommend to you starting with Doyle Brunsons book.

Couldnt hurt. The few times I have played for money I haven't done too bad, but that was probably more due to getting a good number of top hands than than knowing strategy.
