Hey guys,

We're thinking about converting our garage in to a studio and we're worried about sound bleeding through the garage door.

We're also planning on finishing the walls with drywall, carpeting the floor and insulating the ceiling.

I don't know if anyone on here has ever undertaken such a project, but we're looking for any/all advice before we start.

Tips? Advice? Thoughts?

Thanks!!!

The garage door definately could be an issue and you might want to think about taking it down. I don't think you should use carpet, maybe try a hardwoord/laminate floor. You can use regular insulation to save money in the walls/ceilings. I would use at least 2 layers of 5/8'' drywall too.

You might want to try asking here or read about how other people did this, I think there's a few garage conversions.
