You know... this guy whoops ass, but he's really only known now for his Xmas songs...

Good for him he's getting paid and some radio play, but it sucks that he doesnt get enough "props" for whooping some guitar ass as well....

Same with Caffery and TSO.

I actually knew of him from the Hocus Pocus video on Headbangers Ball back in the early to mid nineties.

I think he's a good player but he never dazzled me compared to other shredders.

And he really went toward the surf rock side anyway.

I just lost interest but for anyone who enjoys that kinda stuff perhaps he's still interesting.

Great player, great guy, has always been cool to me, and he even taught me a couple of tricks on guitar back in the 90s when I first started playing. You have to see him play live to really appreciate his awesomeness on the guitar. I don't know if any of his albums do him total justice. Definitely a guy who plays with great feel and who shreds more than he's given credit for.

I played some drums for Hoey last night, who was in time for a clinic, and came out to a jam we had. Pretty chill dude. He holds back a lot on guitar for a player of his actual abilities...
