Gating or editing

i have been less into djent super high chugg type of music..
so there should be a lot of chugg rhythms in the track..
after each chugg there will be some unnecessary noise..
do you usually gate them? or edit them out?
if you gate them what should be the proper value settings..
editing is such a pain and when it comes to this kind of music

Im quick as fuck at doing it in Pro Tools.

Sometimes, strip silence CAN get you 50% of the way there, but often it's just plain wrong.
