Gays can't marry in Cali or whatever.

You are right. I agree with you that humans are not just animals and are infinitely more complex in most every way. My point about nature, once again, is that nature itself shows that male + female = the normal, natural way of a species. Based on this, that normal is different than alternative, I prefer that marriage be kept for the natural, and something else be for the alternative. That's all.

Though I am going against my better instincts in responding to this, I will. You are looking at this the wrong way. The act of majority doing an act is not normal, it's the norm. Homosexual acts in humans and animals, though not the norm, they still happen and due to this fact it's perfectly natural.

Going now on a different train. Like others have said before, I don't comprehend what harm does to you that gay people get the right to have a legal marriage.

How is your opinion not being allowed? You can't just say "if you try to challenge me you're not open minded." If you make a really strong case maybe you'll convince me. We're hoping to convince you. Odds are we'll all just get angry. Regardless, nobody's not allowing your opinion.

AchrisK, you are a modern day racist.

Unity! HA! yer such a saint today
you may be anti racist but then you're anti gay
you may be ignorant from a lack of education
but if it's sympathy you see you seek
you better turn to another station

Intolerant society rears it's ugly face
you're turning your native music into a homophobic disgrace
the gay ones, the straight ones, the white tan yellow and black
gay rude boys and girls, we're gonna take that dancehall back
we'll take it back!
because without respect there's gonna be nothing left

This double standard just won't sit that well with me
I come to say this and it's just the way it has to be
you know i'm not PC i'll shoot your kid at school
'cuz he's gonna grow up to be a fucking asshole just like you
you can celebrate your unity till every gay is dead
but why don't you stop your fronting with real unity instead
and on a better dime on this shitty little globe
we would crucify the racists and be bashing all the homophobes

Intolerant society rears it's ugly face
you're turning your hardcore music into a homophobic disgrace
the gay ones, the straight ones, the white tan yellow and black
gay rude boys and girls, we're gonna take that dancehall back
we'll take it back, we'll take it back
because without respect there's gonna be nothing left

2000 triple zero stand up and take a look around
this ignorant fucking shit shouldn't happen in any town
so come on leave the closet and on your way out grab a bat
cuz there's a battle to be fought and the prize is fucking phat
autonomy from ignorance there's got to be a better way
but the racist, sexist homophobes and piggies gotta pay
but right now you got to get out of your fucking seat
and jam down to the faggot rythm's of that crack rock steady beat

This is a train wreck of stupidity on Ack's part. Sorry bro, but you're not in league with us, sorry.

Dude, you're hilarious. How can I fail at expressing my opinion? How am I not expressing my opinion in a respectful way? I think I have been very clear and my point is simple. So, my communication and reasoning skills are a "train wreck" because you disagree with me? Get a life bro!

AchrisK is embarrassingly stupid. Whether he likes it or not, homosexuality is natural, even if it doesn't occur as normally as heterosexuality. Saying that it isn't natural is just a silly statement to make.

Also, marriages have existed since long before religions that opposed homosexuality, and Christianity is the primary reason why same-sex couples are looked down upon nowadays. It's not like Christians are the only people in this country, or the only people who get married, so they should have no say in what the law is if they want to be restrictive of others' rights solely because it's against their religion.

Churches don't have to perform wedding ceremonies for them if it's against the religion of the church, but they should definitely be entitled the right to marry if people truly have equal rights. Last time I checked, there is a separation of religion and state and everyone is guaranteed equal rights and the pursuit of happiness, so banning gay marriage is pretty much bullshit. ;)

No, your whole mindset is a fucked-up and disgusting train-wreck.

It's a train wreck because you're calling homosexuality unnatural, which is a lie.

You have argued this in a respectful and dignified manner... you're just fundamentally wrong in your opinion, which is the problem here.

That's cool. We're not gonna agree on everything.

I think calling me ignorant would be more appropriate. I don't feel I have been unclear or illogical.

Pretty much every point I could think of has already been raised and still there's no relent. I'll just say that homosexuality is not a lifestyle, and those who label it as such are displaying their ignorance. There are a lot of gay people out there, it's not just the ones wearing assless chaps and spurs you know.

I don't even know what else I can say, it's all already been said.

1) This is a legal, and not religious issue, so religious beliefs should have no bearing on the issue.
2) There are real, genuine rights at hand here. Marriage comes with certain rights that are otherwise unobtainable. Disallowing homosexual couples from getting married is making them second class citizens, and I don't have to explain why that's unacceptable.
3) Homosexuality is not a choice. You do not choose to be gay. If you have absolutely zero predisposition to be gay whatsoever genetically, then there is nothing that can be done to you to genuinely make you desire men, short of psychological torture or something, if even that.
4) Homosexuality is natural. It occurs in nature. Just because it is less common does not mean that it is unnatural.
5) A point that I'm really glad WAIF brought up, there is no 'normal'. The concept of normality in today's American society is obsolete. And this will only become more increasingly true as the years pass.
6) The sacredness of marriage is not diminished by allowing more people to get married. If marriage needs to be an exclusive institution, then it is unacceptable that it has legal ramifications.

Finally, one other point to you specifically, AchrisK. You accuse others of being closed minded. You say that it is more important how you treat people than if you agree with them. But not allowing homosexuals to get married is part of how you treat people. You are the one being closed minded, and it's impossible for you to turn this around. You are the one being intolerant beyond the voice of reason. You are the one that needs to come to terms with the new reality of the country.

Furthermore, I'm confident that this passing will be a great catalyst for gay rights. I believe this will be rigorously challenged, and hopefully it will eventually be overturned. We all know gay rights will happen some day, it's just a matter of time. I'd like to see it sooner rather than later, however, and I hope that this sparks it.

itt alter is stupid

achrisk, how about ancient greece, where they fucked little boys and still had families? Was that okay? I mean, it was normal. And they had families. Normal families. All that matters, right?

Guys you are being kind of harsh here on Ack... he obviously holds no hatred against gays. Calling him a racist is a little out of line. He's wrong in his interpretation of how the law should treat this issue in accordance with his personal beliefs.
