Getting into Katatonia

Hi I´m just getting into Katatonia is there any perticular songs/albums u guys could recomend. I´ve heard Viva Emptiness and it´s groing on me, so don´t recommend that one

I'd recommend their 4th album - Tonight's Decision. It's probably the most accessible. The first two songs on it are some of their best.

well seeing as you are on Opeth fan, probably Brave Murder Day, as it has Mikael on vox.

"Brave murder day" has michael on vox, but doesn't really sound much like Katatonia today. Not a very accessible album either.

"Last Fair Deal Gone Down" is the name of the album you wanna check out.

Katatonia is the perfect band for people who dont listen to alot of metal and are just finding the genre. Id say most things they have done are pretty easy to listen too. Except some of the earlier stuff it sound kinda repetive.

I actually got a friend of mine into Katatonia by playing the song "Brave" for him at maximum volume. I remember him saying it was much more brutal than Krabathor at the time and Krabathor was fucking awesome.

Krabathor = Punk

I got into Katatonia by hearing the song "I Am Nothing".
