Getting quality raw guitar before Amping

I have my setup plugged into a monster pro 200. It doesnt maybe have all the bells and whistles but it never made the slightest difference. Also the guitar behaves the same at my place all the way across town.

I recommend oxygen sealed components if you can find them (cables, di's). But in general a country man di, and mogami cable and you're good to go. At that point, you're just dealing with the sound of the guitar and its pick ups and what they're playing.

I have a similar problem. Normally when we record we go to my drummers house and record in his basement. There is no problem with noise there. Crystal clear. But when I take all of my gear home to retrack guitars or write, I get an awful hum. I think it has something to do with location. Probably improper wiring in the house.

Many houses are wired incorrectly. Call your electric company and complain every day.

Thanks for chiming in Joey! I asked this question before but never got a response. Why do you use a di box over the great river 1nv di? I know everything has its place but i just wondered if you could elaborate on why i should buy a di instead of using my great river. What advantages or differences did it make for you.

Thanks Man!
