"Ghost" and "Storm's A-Coming" by Matt Smith

Storm's a' Coming. :worship:

Dude, that is a wicked cool change of pace. Genre-blending to the Nth degree. Risky to do that, but really paid off. Sweet. Love when you drop down a little lower in that one part, getting really bluesy.

Hi... Have these songs a christian meaning? I don't understand English very well, so i don't know whether they are metaphors :)

btw: Can someone insert lyrics of Storm's A-Coming?
thanks. :)

Thanks.
Songs are good, but I will not listen to them...
In my opinion, every song from Christian should glorify Jesus.

I think art (including music) can still glorify Jesus without directly talking about him. Think of a beautiful landscape painting and how it can remind us of God's wonderful ability to create without having a picture of Jesus in it. I think the lyrics in this song could certainly be interpreted from a Christian mindset, even though it may not be as immediately obvious as most of Theocracy's material. Just my two cents. You can certainly listen to what you determine best for yourself without my input. :)

Here's by best shot at the lyrics. Not sure how to spell the whole "bebop badadada" so I just left that out. :)

Storm's A-Comin'

Storm's A-Comin'
Storm's A-Comin'
Storm's A-Comin'
Storm's A-Comin'

My children take a look toward the skies (Storm's A-Comin', Storm's A-Comin')
It's time for us to separate the foolish from the wise (Storm's A-Comin')
You see those angry clouds are gathering (Storm's A-Comin', Storm's A-Comin')
It's quiet now, but soon this town will never be the same
'Cause that's Storm's A-Comin '(Storm's A-Comin')
That Storm's A-Comin' (Storm's A-Comin')

So lift me up, but tear me down
Soon the winds will come and blow us all around
So here we go, I'll be your shelter, what a show
And if you're scared, it's all right
Take my hand and run away with me tonight
Gotta one way ticket on a southern train
We're getting out of this town
That Storm's A-Comin'

So listen all you people, gather 'round. (Storm's A-Comin', Storm's A-Comin')
If we survive this night we've gotta get to higher ground (Storm's A-Comin')
No time to say goodbye to where we've been (Storm's A-Comin', Storm's A-Comin')
Catch lightning in a bottle while the thunder's rolling in
'Cause that Storm's A-Comin' (Storm's A-Comin')
That Storm's A-Comin' (Storm's A-Comin')

So lift me up, but tear me down
Soon the winds will come and blow us all around
So here we go, I'll be your shelter, what a show
And if you're scared, it's all right
Just take my hand and run away with me tonight
Gotta one way ticket on a southern train
We're getting out of this town
That Storm's A-Comin'

Storm's A-Comin'
Storm's A-Comin'
Storm's A-Comin'
Storm's A-Comin'

[instrumental break]

So lift me up, you gonna tear me down
Soon the winds will come and blow us all around
Here we go, I'll be your shelter, what a show
It's all right
Take my hand and run away with me tonight
Gotta one way ticket on a southern train
We're getting out of this town
That Storm's A-Comin'

Hi everyone,
If any of you are guitar players, I've figured out the chords for Ghost - partly by ear, and partly by watching Matt play in the video. I doubt it's perfect, but it's close.

You can view the chords below, or download it as a word document with the proper formatting here.

EDIT: the formatting on this forum is a bit off, so I'd recommend downloading the Word doc.

Theocracy - Ghost (Chords) - Half-step down

D Bm/F# A Asus4 A
Wake of a whisper, thirteen years, unspoken past
D Bm/F# A Asus4 A
Silhouettes at the table, in the candle, shadow cast
D Bm/F# A Asus4 A
The muse and the mystery lost in me though still remain
D Bm/F# A Asus4 A
A specter of tragedy ever lingers like a stain

Prechorus:
G A Bm
And regret is the rule of the day
G A Bm
All the things they've forgotten to say
G A Bm E
So they chose not to start as they drifted apart
G A D
While the innocence melted away

Dm A#sus2 F G A
And it's a long way down when the promise is already gone
Dm A#sus2 F G A
All the dreams we founded have faded with time, and its time to move on
Dm A#sus2 F G A
Here surrounded, too proud to give up but too tired to carry you home
A#sus2 C D
What a way to be free

D Bm/F# A Asus4 A (Repeat 4x)
Shell of a memory from an artificial life
Matchsticks and ashes, only figures marking time
He just stares at the window, the scars of vacant eyes
Gripped by the haunting and the loss he kept inside

G A Bm
So she carries the weight of the world
G A Bm
And she buries the dreams of a girl
G A Bm E
And she wonders if time will be aging like wine
G A D
Or the pain that created the pearl

Chorus
