Actually, I always liked Slipknot. *They got me into heavy metal* (waits for onslaugt of YOU'RE NU-METAL AND YOU'RE GAY)

I like a gimmick, I think it adds something. But if the music sucks, a gimmick ain't gonna be enuff. Music is by far the most important thing - however I think there's no harm in adding a gimmick as well if the music is good. Why only have great music if you can also have a great show, great image, killer attitude & something exciting to offer to go with it?

After all... music is entertainment. ESPECIALLY rock music!

By the way, this is related to Slipknot coz of Joey... I think the Murderdolls rock. They have cool songs, killer attitude & a cool look/gimmick to go with it. They're the closest thing we have to glam coming back to the mainstream at the moment so I'm all for it. If the mainstream crowd are enjoying Murderdolls... then there's no reason they wouldn't also enjoy a band like Erotic Suicide. If Brides of Destruction get the same success as Murderdolls too it could be good. Next thing they'll all be checking out Motley Crue & Faster Pussycat (Murderdolls never stop talkin' about how much they are influenced by Faster Pussycat) and glam will be back.

Thomson did some solos for some Slipknot songs but their dipshit producer Ross Robinson cut them out. After the release the new album I heard they're going to call it quits.

They see the return of thrash and know that they don't stand a chance.
