THe OlWOZau Wha.e HUH?
I just got back, it was amazing..great sound quality and the crowd were amazing even though the venue was only 3 quarters full.

The setlist was:

The Leper Affinity
Advent
Deliverance
The Drapery Falls
Godhead's Lament
Harvest
Serenity Painted Death
A Fair Judgement
====
Demon of the Fall

Mikael kicked ass and changed the setlist to include Serenity Painted Death since the crowd asked for it so much and they had never played it to a Scottish crowd before. Everytime he spoke, made a facial expression or did anything the whole place erupted..it was amazing.

Anyway, I took my digital camera and got some really good pictures. I used my flash since everyone else was doing it and the guys never seemed to mind one bit. I've uploaded all the ones I took with flash(as the ones without are pretty shitty) and here they are:

DO NOT PUT THESE ON YOUR WEBSITE WITHOUT EMAILING ME FIRST(OR ASKING ME IN THIS TOPIC). DO NOT LINK PEOPLE TO THESE PICTURES, THEY HAVE HUGE FILESIZES AND I CAN'T AFFORD HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE DOWNLOADING THEM. If my server gets abused, I'll remove them.

Oh and I was really close to the front but over to the left, so I didn't get the bassist in for a lot of them :(

They change at least one song on the setlist quite often from date to date, I mean they've played April Ethereal and Credence on a lot of shows but not tonight. I'm really gutted they didn't play April Ethereal..but the gig was so good I don't mind that much.

If I can be frank for a moment, tonight FUCKING RULED IT.

I was up in the balcony so I could get a good panoramic view of Mike and the boys, and had a fantastic time. Madder Mortem was better than I expected them to be, and the crowd was pleasant to them, but the vibe changed for the better when Opeth appeared :D

Got a tour T-shirt, two plectrums and a night of proper metal. I'm a happy bunny.

And I get to do it all again on Tuesday for Devin Townsend/SYL. w00t! :flame:

How does Harvest translate live, can anyone at the Glasgow gig tell me?
Even though it wasn't my favourite song, and I don't really like it all that much it was the one song they played that asbolutely blew me away because of how good it came across live. It was absolutely flawless, Mikael may just have had an inspired night, but the vocals were perfect.

WOW!!! My first ever Opeth gig! It totally ruled! My neck aches so much from all the moshing haha! This was my first kinda "death metal" gig too, but that didnt hold me back, I was right there in the centre 2 guys from the front growling my lil heart out! Before the gig I was like a lil excited school girl jibbering on about how much I wanted them to play my most favourite songs; Serenity Painted Death, Advent, The Leper Affinity and Deliverance and to my eXtreme elation (u might have seen me, i was the mad chick jumping up'n'down at the front as soon as Mike even hinted the track they were about to play), they played each one!!!

I always love gigs in Glasgow, the scottish crowds are always so funny....I would love to find the guy who shouted "Mikael!!! What tubes are you using?!" !! Or the d00d who made the girl in Madder Mortem spew her water all over the bassist bahahaha :P !!

Anyways, that gig was definitely one of my most favouritest, Opeth rule!

Oooh, and i also got to shake hands with Peter! YEAY! \m/ \m/

Lord that looks like a golden setlist. The following setlist would be perfect tho.

The Leper Affinity
April Ethereal
Deliverance
The Drapery Falls
Godhead's Lament
