I'll only have 9 or so if I only rate what I've purchased...it would be maybe 15 otherwise so I won't rate. Hell Awaits would not be in my Top 5 most likely

Just putting a list here in no particular order to revisit.

Fates Warning - The Spectre Within
Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion
W.A.S.P. - The Last Command
Bathory - The Return...
Helloween - Walls of Jericho
Exodus - Bonded by Blood
Pentagram - s/t
Overkill - Feel the Fire
Megadeth - Killing is My Business... and Business is Good!
Manilla Road - Open the Gates
Saint Vitus - Hallow's Victim
Possessed - Seven Churches
Slayer - Hell Awaits
Savage Grace - Master of Disguise
Universe - s/t
Kat - Metal and Hell (Idk I'd need to double check this one. On RYM it says '85 but MA says '86)
Attacker - Battle at Helm's Deep
Destruction - Infernal Overkill

Also, I realize Running Wild's Bounded by Exile is this year too, but it's not my favorite by them. It's sorta a lesser Gates to Purgatory imo.

Crypts of Eternity sounds like a Venom song that ended up on the wrong album, and both Hell Awaits and Hardening of the Arteries are more innovative than they are excellent.

characterising the most derivative song as innovative while dismissing the most unique and elaborate song as a venom rip off = peak hbb

How are Hell Awaits or Hardening of the Arteries derivative? They're among the closest things to death metal for their time. Your implication that Venom was incapable of elaborate songs further demonstrates that you know nothing. I was talking in terms of style, not quality or ambition. It's a borderline trad metal song, even though it is still great. Crionics and Face the Slayer are great too, but they clearly don't fit the thrashier half of Show No Mercy.
