Thrash had its run, just accept it.
I used to listen a lot of thrash until early 90's. Even if my preferences went in other directions, I still was updated with what was released and man, thrash went to the toilet. Around mid 00's there were serious efforts to resurrect it, but thrash never reached the levels that it had on the 80's until very early 90's. Not even close and you know it.
From my perspective, death and black metal have been the most consistently good metal styles since early 90's. Every year there are a decent amount of great death and/or black metal albums. Thrashers can't say the same.
