I will say, this game did get me super interested into Sodom though.
I feel like they influenced Carnivore a bit.

The melody of the main riff and vocals sound happy. I'm not a musician or anything so I don't know why it sounds happy. Maybe it's in a key atypical of thrash, I don't know. But it sounds like it belongs it a trad or power metal album to me, not a thrash metal album.
So all of a sudden a thrash album with trad/power elements is a problem for you? Thought you liked that shit most of the time.
I think "happy" sounding elements really bring out a song. Thrash isnt all serious and cold shouldered anyway. Sodom certainly seems like a band to have fun with what they do.
Discharge had THE BEST trad metal album what you talkin about.
Humans specialize and trad/power is not Sodom's specialty. Tom's voice isn't suited for it, the tempo is too fast and the rhythms still too thrashy, the melody itself is extremely simple, etc. I think the English Dogs' and Discharge's attempts at trad/power are total garbage as well. If NoMeansNo, King Crimson, Devo, or another non-metal artist I love attempted trad/power I'd hate that too most likely.
yeah if were talking about fun bands like Gama Bomb or whatever. Not stuff like Slayer, Sacrifice, Sepultura etc.I think "happy" sounding elements really bring out a song. Thrash isnt all serious and cold shouldered anyway. Sodom certainly seems like a band to have fun with what they do.
A Devo trad/power metal album would be cool.

but yeah, most "happy" thrash is pretty much crap, ala anthrax
absolutely not. The guy is delusional as usualDo you agree that "Nuclear Winter" is happy pop-thrash though?
