My hair has thinned out a bit on top... I cut it real close and it looks pretty good.

This recommendation would basically depend on how long you have been shedding hair. But I would recommend starting minoxidil 2%, or 5%. You can find it in most drugstores it does not need a prescription.
Minoxidil will maintain your current hair line it is the only FDA approved treatment for hair loss.
If you are not satisfied and you want all your hair back, you can try propecia which also is very very effective but it could have some side effects, you should see about it with a doctor.
