Kansas.
I found out about them about a month ago and they slowly crept up to my favorite band aside from Opeth yet I must give recognition for them because they are amazing.

Top favorite 5 songs from them is worth it, and not only they deserve it. They are great.

1. FUCKING ESOTERIC SURGERY.
2. Global Warming.
3. To Sirius
4. Oroborus
5. Flying Whales

There's probably more that people have, but I truly do respect this band, and they need more regonition for their talents.

1. From the sky
2. Backbone
3. The Heaviest Matter of the Universe
4. Wisdom Comes
5. Flying Whales

The whole of FMTS is freaking incredable. I would kill for these guys to tour with Opeth.

haha lovely thread, "FUCKING ESOTERIC SURGERY" made me laugh!

I love gojira as well, and if you can get pass the feeling of them being "monotenous", you truly discover what a great band they are. I have one big recommendation for you gojira fans here and that is to download (or buy obviously) the live dvd because they only play songs only, which are, as familiar, very poorly recorded and hardly listenable. But they perform the songs so great live that it feels like you've found yourself two new gojira albums. Once you've got the dvd you can extract the sound files and listen to it in your mp3 player or just burn it over to cd and spin it in the stereo. Honestly, I can stress how good the live dvd is and the joy of re-discovering such excellent music! (imagine if opeth would re-record morningrise and orchid, better vocals and much better sound quality)

anyway top 5 (all songs pre-FMTS are from the live dvd)

1. Heaviest Matter of the universe

4. Vacuity
5. Esoteric Surgery

I have to see them live. They :kickass:

I've seen them live, was crushing performance apart from the audiance (what do you expect when being support for in flames?) I guess they were blown away by gojira. But hell yeah, it was great and they played as tightly as in the studio

Global warming
Heviest matter of the universe
From the sky

The Way of All Flesh is absolutely fantastic, there's 2 songs on there that I don't like to listen to much (adoration for none, all the tears) but that definately doesn't mean they are bad by any means but the other songs on there are fucking AMAZING

as a matter of fact it's the best metal album I've heard in 2008, easily.

yeah watershed or way of all flesh are currently my favorites from 2008, that being said, I havent heard that much from 2008 (but yes I've heard obZen)
