What kind of stuff do you like? Name a couple of bands, and I'm sure others can suggest similar bands that you may be into.

While no band is exactly similar to Opeth, most Opeth fans also seem to dig Katatonia and Porcupine Tree.

Um Blink 182, Simple Plan i dno ay its all good!!!! jj Get some Strapping Young Lad into thee with plenty of Meshuggah if your into your metal I seem to hear good things about Porcupine Tree and Dark Tranquility. If your into more progressive stuff Dream Theaters always good but it is ocassionally slightly wanky.... and these are my opinions btw they probably SUCK!

i just discovered this really cool solo guy amazing licks and lightning speed,, u could say the deathmetal-equivalent of joe satriani and steve vai. Never have i seen such incredible talent coupled with modesty and goodlooks,, do not miss out on this guy u have so gotta check him out,,, this guy makes all the other gods look humble in comparison,, he will blow u away with his soaring solos and deep-ground riffs,, his energy on stage is contagious, he is bound to make u headbang just by the mere sight of him

I recently bought a few albums because I heard good things among these forums (and stuff like guitar world and progarchives.com) and they were...

Nevermore - This Godless Endeavour
Pain of Salvation - Be
Pelican - Australasia
Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked

Pelican and Nevermore are just must buy cd's... The nevermore album starts off a little weak but quickly turns into genius for the duration...

This Pain of Salvation album is apparently a bad one (or so i've read)... there is quite a bit of talking about topics that seem to me like OBE...its done to cool textural/trippy backgrounds... its very orchestral and at times has some pretty good riffs - dream theaterish at times... very cool folk parts and the piano and guitar are top notch... plus its a progressive concept album so if thats what you are into i would defenitly say its a must buy... If this is their bad album, I can't wait to hear the good shit...

Nile............. all I can say is that.... holy fuck these guys are heavy...This is usually not a CD I would listen to, and I must say I felt like I wasted my money once I heard the first song after that cool middle eastern acoustic intro... However after listening to the whole thing it is undeniable that these guys are a tremendous band... I especially like the textural stuff they do with their guitars...and I realized there is a lot of brutal genius that can be found once I just sat down and listened through the entire thing... If you are into REALLY heavy stuff this is a must-buy... and even though its not something I would listen to, I approached it with an open mind and found tons of great stuff...

so far I must say Opeth board members have not mislead me...
