Good, but cheap, HiHats cymbals

Hey guys,

I'm needing to get some hihats quick.... but i need to keep it under $200.


I've heard the Sabian B8 Pro is pretty good.


But, anything from Zildian or Meinl ?? Cause I've got a coupon for those two brands...

Sabian > Zildjian. Meinl are good, but it depends on how you much spend with them.

I think so. I've always preferred Sabian over Zildjian, they have more of that sizzle to them, and really crisp. Whereas, to me, Zild have always been too warm and dull in comparison with similar size Sabians. Meinl are good, as I said, but you really gotta spend money on them to get their better stuff.

would you prefer the B8 Pro Rock.... Or B8 pro medium ? I'm not sure I know the difference.

and 13" vs 14"?

That's personal preference, I prefer the Pro Rock set myself, 14". Great crispness and not overly bright. If you go here you can hear samples of each B8 Pro set.

b8's are alot heavier sounding, try get hold of some pro sonix, really crisp and hard waring, without too much comprimise on tone

My ZXT Titanium's 14" sound great, really bright and crisp sounding, way nicer sounding than their worth imho.
