So I've been for a long while complaining about there not being any bands like Rage Against The Machine around. But after searching a bit, I see there are some. I'm no big fan of hip hop music, but I simply loved RATM's first album..and well, I'm trying to gather bands in that vein. So far..(well, Madtinus by mistake made me search for more bands after posting a wrong link in another post, so again thank you..hehe)

Here's what I've found so far:

http://www.myspace.com/reveillemusic

and

myspace.com/thecoldworld (which Madtinus found for me)

Now just to find a more groovy version of these bands...

Point of post? To find more within this genre..has it progressed, regressed or is it simply a dead end for most?

I stumbled across a band that mixed it with screamo.. yes, and it sounded like you think it did..

haven't heard anything new really but then again I haven't looked to hard.

Fire away with anything you got :)

Doesn't have to be just RAGEalike...just something within the genre that caught your ear a bit.

At The Drive-In needs to be on the list..surely. Good one.

I second At The Drive-In, you'll love them

Hardcore:
Abandon All Hope - Where Life And Death Meet
Bleeding Through - Declaration
Integrity - Humanity Is The Devil

Hip Hop/Trip Hop:
Jedi Mind Tricks - Servants In Heaven, Kings In Hell
Immortal Technique - Revolutionary Vol. 2
Atmosphere - When Life Gives You Lemons You Paint That Shit Gold
DJ Shadow - Entroducing
Evol Intent - Era Of Diverson

Groovy/IBM:
Mr. Bungle - Mr. Bungle
Diamanda Galas w/ John Paul Jones - The Sporting Life
The Flashbulb - Soundtrack To A Vacant Life

Liked Integrity the best.

The rest are bands I either think are good, but not quite what I'm looking for or music I already have. You have a varied mix of artists and bands here. Nice!
Amazed to see that Diamanda Galas actually have made something that I manage to listen to..this might be the most listenable work from her yet. Of course, she's fascinating no matter what.

The Flashbulb was rather neat. Reminds me of Beefcake..only better.

Thanks for the tips :)

I'll have to add: www.myspace.com/biohazard

buy the "judgement night" soundtrack. It´s full of cooperations between metal and hiphop artists.
and while you´re at it, also add Spawn soundtrack. its metal/rock and techno artists.

Is that the one with Faith No More with booya tribe or whatever it was?

Check Senser - Asylum (album) for some fairly strange stuff.

Wow, someone who tries to combine a variety of music types within this genre. Strange stuff, but very interesting!

Another one:

Downset

Lisra:

Not a very big fan of female vocs, but if used properly it can be cool.
This doesn't work well with me though. For some reason I need a ghetto feel to it.
Senser and Cold World might be the biggest find for me so far. Thanks for coming up with more music though! :)

Yes, Another Body Murdered

Ah! That's the one..great song!
