@siren: glad somebody mentioned madder mortem. This album is beautiful, so is Deadlands and their debut Mercury is also very good. And the pain, well, yeah, but I like it that way.
@marduk: unfortunatelly i only have "all flesh is grass". i really love the music and the vocals, i find those things quite hard to do with ones voice.

This sentence is a bit confusing. What do you mean? Like, to sing it yourself? If that, then yeah!! Agnette has a hell of a voice, so powerful and emotional and so fucking true that I sometimes close my eyes and feel everything she is singing about. Sorry Caro, Liv Kristine doesnt come anywhere close to Agnette, she sings from her throat, she sounds like a fake to me. The only album with her voice I like is Velvet Darkness... from Thatre of Tragedy. Her performance on Nymphetamine from CoF was a catastrophy (the whole album sucks, but when I first heard that song I thought omg Kylie Minogue!

of course its really different, anyway nothing beats anneke from the gathering when it comes to female voices, the gathering is just one of these fantastic bands that can make me laugh, shiver, cry, all at the same time!
@marduk: yeah, that's what i meant. it's hard to sing it yourself. i don't know how to explain it, but what i find more hard about it is perhaps the melodies. they're complicated in a way, away from the standards but still making absolute sense. i like singing a lot, and this album for me is a challenge.

EDIT: Yeah that song rules, The harmonized solo toward the end is fantastic. Great production aswell.
This new album is pretty kickass. All the people saying it's one big song (including the band) need to stop trying to sound arty. There's clearly no songs on this album what-so-ever. I like it.

Hmmm. Skitliv. Some käng before a soccer game. Gets you warmed up and aggressive enough. Another good thing is that the other team have PINK shirts. Makes the whole thing with trying to hate them even easier.

Agnettes singing is a bit mad (but check out the first letters of their albums ) and thats what makes their music so fresh, sometimes it reminds me of our folk songs, where the women also sing very low and sooo looong weird melodies that fit perfectly to the song and the emotion. Btw. if you want the other two albums and you use slsk, just add me and get them.
