iZotope Trash and Soundtoys Decapitator

I tired Decapitator when it was in beta phase, and Iwas absolutely blown away. It worked wonders from adding a bit of grit and dirtyness to drum tracks, to fattening a weak bass or absolutely destroying vocals.

Unfortunately it's not on the top of my list of necessities, so I really can't justify buying it :/

UAD 1176 on the vox group set to smash, and i know there is another thread people have been talking about using the POD farm preamps on shit, I have been using the 80's gang vocal preset, in conjunction with waves doubler as a vocal fx buss for awile now and dig what it adds, just send from the 1176 and blend.

After testing it, I reckon Pod Farm's channel strips are pretty good for that kind of stuff too.

Not trying to get off topic.. But how much difference is there between the UAD 1176, and the Waves CLA-76? I personally use the Waves CLA-76 a lot in my chains, and I've been wondering if the UAD 1176 is noticeably different.

Havent tried the CLA stuff yet, hear great stuff on this board about em, But i can say that the UAD 1176 kicks ass on vox.
