I say get "The New Order," so you can hear how Testament has evolved musically, then take it from there. This is just me... I got their first, "The Legacy," some years later.

And Lost Wisdom, it would be a good idea to get another one..Practice is good, but they haven't played much off it live recently. Here is how I rank them, although the last few is what I have HEARD from them:
1. The New Order
2. The Legacy
3. The Gathering
4. Souls of Black ( Most fans will disagree with me on this though)
5. Practice What You Preach
6. Low
7. The Ritual
8. Demonic

just get any except the ritual, although people think its ghood (i think its relatively bent) it is no good example of testament, perhaps as a contrast from practice what you preach, you should get demonic.
If you can find The Gathering, Low, New Order or First Strike Still Deadly I would pick up one of those as your next Testament purchase. Or fuck, just get all of them if you have the cash!
