Seriously the best sleep i've had in years.

Doc puts the IV in

"Soo.... how long will this take for me to feel the effect?"

"About 5 minutes."

"Oh....... Whoa, I feel drunk." *Instant unconsiousness*

I don't even remember passing out when I was sedated for my wisdom teeth. I remember the doctor counting backwards from 10, and somewhere around 5 I woke up and the operation was over. Best part about it was the Demerol I got to take for the next 2 weeks.

oh yeah fun times. the doc said I had the biggest wisdom teeth he had ever seen. he let me keep them (but I threw them away a week or two later). the not fun part was puking up all the blood that night that I had been swallowing throughout the day

Ahh yeah I hardly remember passing out from when I was put out for surgery. It was a really bad appendectomy because it had...exploded or whatever they do. I didn't get demerol afterwards, but I did enjoy the morphine immensely haha

Fuckin' a...went in for surgery back in July. Waking up early and getting an IV was unpleasant, but a few minutes after they pumped me full of stuff, everything was just...funny as hell. I was so high on that shit that when they gave me the oxygen mask in the operation room I passed out almost instantly. I've never slept so well in my life.

weird, I only got a local anesthesy for my wisdom teeth operation. I could see all the stuff going out!! When they took the little knife... cut there and there, pick a tube and watch all the blood flowing out hehehe.

I do get to keep mine.

On a different note, I once had dental work done and they used this new anesthetic, some kind of hallucinogen. I remember bits and pieces of the surgery (you aren't supposed too, but I have an abnormal memory), and for some reason the fact that salmon were migrating upstream on the cieling was vastly more important than the fact that the doctor was knifing my gums, and I could feel it. I remember breking out in song once, and thought that all of the docters were wearing SWAT gear, complete with masks, grenades and m16s.

hot time.

Are you all swollen and gross now?

Like two years ago, my ex got all four of his taken out, and I went and comforted him while he was drugged out and drooling blood all over the place. Aw, I was such a good girlfriend.

I still have my wisdom teeth actually, the surgery was a different matter....funny, my dentist told me my wisdom teeth were going to cause me excruciating pain within a year or so.

That was over three years ago now. I'm wondering when this pain is going to show up.

One of my friends got hers out a few years ago. Her cheeks were so swollen it looked like she had three heads. She didn't go to school for two weeks then - first week because of the pain and the second because she didn't want anyone to see her like that. I did see her though. Now I'm glad I can keep mine.

Are you all swollen and gross now?

I had chipmunk cheeks for the first day or so. After that, nothing much. Only gross part is when I woke up and apparantly drooled blood all over my hand. Bleh.

The pain wore off after the first 15 hours. Haven't taken any of their pain medication since. I wonder if this means I have a high tolerance to pain or something. Because the nurses said I had some of the biggest wisdom teeth they'd ever seen.

I had mine out and when they put the gas on me, everything spirialed and slowly tunneled in.. then i pulled the IV and monitors and stuff off of me and they had to do it all over again.. and i had conversations with people that i don't remember when i came to

I'm surprised they didn't put you in soft ties, they did my aunt when she did that. And yes, it's legal.
