Grand Life Appreciation Thread

If you spent 7 years training to be an idol, learned everything from dinner etiquete, proper behaviour to singing and dancing, you would want people to take you seriously. All famous idols are known for dedicating their lives just to debut one day.Their lifestyles are crazy but hey, they get the $$$$

I can't say I know much about it at all. But yeah, I'd want to be taken seriously. I did hear that female K-pop singers cannot get into relationships because that ruins their image? Pretty crazy indeed

No,male and female idols both have dating bans. Sometimes, they date secretly and sometimes their companies pushed them into a dating scandal on purpose to get more attention.
Overall, asian idols, even when they are talented in their areas, are great singers, dancers and so on, have no artistic freedom at all. They cant chose what to sing, what to wear and overall nobody asks them anything.
Its a so called slave contract, because you are overworked to the maximum, working up to 20 hours a day, 7 days in a week, are constantly dieting, arent allowed to date, smoke, drink and overall have no freedom of speech.

What the fuck? That's brutal.

Seriously that really is fucked up. I knew they were operating under strict terms but I didn't know it was this bad. Is it this way with Koreans only?

Yeah, cpop and jpop arent that strict. There are dating bans there and companies manipulating but its not that bad.
Kpop is quite dirty inside and fans can only speculate what really happens behind the stage. Like, one famous korean actress killed herself few years ago because, in order to get roles, her company forced her to have sex with some businessmen.

But what really makes a difference are the fans. Kpop fans are the most dedicated music fans ever. They follow their idols every where, some of the basically live just to follow idols every where and know about their personal lives as much as possible. Its not uncommon for fans to do charities, buy forests, build schools and such just for idol's birthday. Or idols themselves get tons of gifts for a bday. Baekhyun got 400 000$ worth gifts from just one fansite.

Jpop and cpop fans are much more relaxed and not so obsessed.

It sucks for these people that they are being these kind of slaves to business, but what boggles my mind is that fans like it? Why the hell would anyone care who these hot celebs are fucking? Looks at Taylor Swift, she's probably borderline and besides a joke here and there, nobody really minds that she gets in and out of relationships all the time. She still sells a ton of shit. Is this a cultural difference that in Korea you must remain pure and innocent? Or is it just what show business is like there?

Tbh, you cannot compare western and asian celebrities. In Korea, there is no way public would let someone problematic to be a role model for teens. Thats a good side of it.
Fans dont like it but we are well aware that none of our fav groups would be there if there wasnt for their company to create them.

Most of us like kpop cause its different from from what we see every day and and we would like to keep it that way.

You probably wouldnt find girl idols good looking :(
And guy idols would look like girls to you :(

They think this is ugly
